SiteMonitor Interface for Morningstar (Serial)

Have you ever wanted to monitor your Morningstar Charge Controller remotely? Now you can.

This unit, when added to a SiteMonitor system, adds the ability to monitor over 40 key parameters from Morningstar Charge Controllers which support MODBUS communication over a DB9 serial port on the charge controller. Currently this includes classic TriStar Charge Controller. Devices with a MeterBus connection (Sunsaver MPPT and Sunsaver Duo) can either be connected with this device and the official MorningStar PC Meterbus Adapter, or with the MeterBus version of this product, available from this website.

This unit "exposes" parameters such as Solar, Battery, and Load voltages, Charge and Load Current, Device type and version, Unit temperatures, and many more. In addition, control of certain parameters (such as forcing a equalize remotely) is possible as well.

This package includes a SiteMonitor DB9 Serial Interface, a DIN/Wall mounting clip, a 6 foot DB9 M-F ribbon cable needed to fit the TriStar's DB9 port, and an appropriate jumper to daisy chain to the SiteMonitor base unit.
